Connecting Points Consulting stands alone in the nonprofit industry, as a no-strings-attached consulting firm that provides grassroots and coalition training once reserved for grantees of large foundations. While some of those foundations are no longer around or have adopted new missions, the education and tools that they provided remain critical to today’s political landscape. In a philanthropic world dominated by the nonprofit industrial complex, we recognize the need for organizational training and education without corporate oversight.
As former staff members who witnessed first-hand the directional shift that the NIPC had on their own former employer-organization, Leah Clyburn and Chelsea Mérta have incorporated into Connecting Points Consulting the strategies needed by smaller organizations – often reliant upon one to three grants to keep their work alive – to break free from the restrictions of foundational grants and state-sponsored funding so that they may truly focus on their work and not appeasing corporate interests.
